Does God Exist?

This is an infinite question that has been prevailing since the human sense of reasoning evolved. In our modern world, the question has taken a life of its own and has birthed different schools of thought. The answer to this question depends on which school of thought you align with. The atheists will say no, God does not exist (at least not as a supreme being), while the theists will acknowledge that he does exist. So, which one is true?
Well, the concept of God is not empirical. It is not a solid science that can be approved or disapproved. Just like all matters related to the supernatural and the divine, this matter is left to personal perspective and experience. Our natural factual senses cannot grasp matter related to the supernatural or divine realm. We are not biologically engineered to see beyond what our two eyes or our natural senses could see—but this does not mean they don’t affect us—they do, much more than we will ever know.
Many notable individuals have discussed in their books and articles this profound question, ‘Does God Exist?’ Individuals such as Dr. Gregory E. Ganssle, Bruce Ashford and Marilyn Adamson posited excellent arguments in favour of God’s existence (See citation at the end of this book). Marilyn’s six analyses of God’s existence is intriguing. She looks at the position of the Earth. If the Earth is just a few seconds away from the sun, it will freeze. In the same analogy, if it takes one more step closer, it will burn out, pointing to the uniqueness of God who made it so, rather than simply evolving on its own. She looks at water on Earth; it’s engineered to purify, recycled and reused to sustain life on Earth. The start of the universe also points to God. Scientists are convinced that the universe started from the explosion of matter, energy, and light. Interestingly, the Bible said that God declared, “Let there be light”, beginning the creation. The universe operates by uniform mathematical laws of nature, pointing to the existence of an intelligent designer. The human body is too complex to have evolved without an intelligent designer, especially considering the intricacy of human DNA, engineered to tell the body what to do. God Himself continually pursues us, and He wants to be known, hence this persisting question, ‘Does He exist or not?’ that has refused to be silent in human history. The most promising evidence of God’s existence is through Jesus Christ. We will discuss Jesus profoundly in the second part of this book.
God does exist as a Supreme Being. To a natural mind, He cannot be seen but can be perceived if you open your mind to receive Him. To those in relationship with Him through Christ Jesus, He can and has made Himself known physically (in the form of angels), through perception (from the study of the Bible), and spiritually (for those with the spiritual gifts).
You may want to ask me, ‘Have you seen Him?’ Yes, I have, multiple times. In my late boyhood, He did make himself known to me, though I was too young to perceive, not until I became a teenager. I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit when I was about 17 years old. He revealed Himself to me spiritually—it was a series of glorious experiences I had over the years until I came into full (not complete) knowledge of Him. To see Him is different from knowing Him. You can see Him without knowing Him, or know Him without seeing Him—you can also see and know Him.
I know you might be wondering how he looks. Well, here is a thing: if God chooses to reveal Himself to you spiritually (no one can see Him physically), He will come to you in ANY FORM He chooses. He can come to you in the form of an ancient man wrapped in glorious light, or in the form of an angel of exceeding glory, or in the form of a pure bright light, or like a still, small voice speaking into your ear or your mind. Interestingly, he can reveal Himself to you in the form of an ordinary-looking man of no remarkable features. Most of all, if you are fortunate to operate in the grace of the first Apostles of Christ or the ancient prophets of old, you will see Him as He is in heaven, seated and highly lifted high.
Are you convinced that God exist? Well, maybe not yet. There is no shame in questioning the existence of God. God wants us to question His existence; he puts this question in our hearts since human reasoning evolved, and the question has never gone away. He pursues us with this question until we come to our conviction. There are testimonies of atheists who later became convinced of His existence after experiencing a powerful relationship with Him. God will come to you if you truly open your mind to learn, and you honestly want to know if he does or does not.
A relationship with God starts by knowing Jesus Christ, who is the only ‘true way’ to God Almighty. Jesus teaches us more about God, and believing in Jesus Christ puts you on a sure path to experience God, and he will prove to you that He exists—he is the Alpha and the Omega.
